PEABODY-A little taste of Boston?s North End is coming to Peabody this week.Popular pizza restaurant, Pizzeria Regina , will open its doors to hungry shoppers at the Northshore Mall Tuesday, March 24.The Peabody site is just one of five others opening this year at Simon Malls across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.?This expansion allows Pizzeria Regina to continue to grow even in this tough economy while also creating many new jobs,” said Robert Taft, CEO of Pizzeria Regina .So far, 20 employees were hired for the Peabody food court, said the mall?s public relations representative Julie Chavanne. The new location will also offer its Curbside To Go program, which allows customers to easily pick-up one of their famous pizzas to enjoy at home. The service, set up just behind the eatery, will be open Monday through Saturday from 4-8 p.m.?The addition of the popular Pizzeria Regina is sure to satisfy our customers who are looking for an enjoyable and family-friendly dining experience,” said Laurel Sibert, portfolio vice president of Mall Marketing for Simon. She went on to say that people will be “just as thrilled” with the new locations as they have been with the 15 others scattered throughout the Boston area. The restaurant first came to fame in 1926 with its round pizzas, a new phenomenon at the time. After the Polcari family took over ownership in 1946 and upped the marketing scheme, Pizzeria Regina became an almost instant destination dining spot.
