LYNN – A Lynn man has been ordered held without bail for at least one week after being arraigned for aggravated rape.Barry Hassane, 53, of 29 Arlington St., was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated rape, domestic assault and battery and urinating in public.Police responded to Hassane’s home at about midnight Saturday morning after a disturbance between the alleged victim, who is his former girlfriend, and her two brothers, police said.According to a police report, the victim told police that a day earlier she and Hassane went back to his home after having drinks at a Lynn bar. She said they started to get intimate when Hassane started strangling her and forced her to perform a sexual act.She said he only stopped after she began bleeding from the mouth. The victim told police she thought she was going to pass out during the attack. The victim said she decided not to leave Hassane’s home because she was drunk and didn’t want to drive, police said.As police questioned the victim outside Hassane’s home on Saturday, an officer allegedly observed Hassane urinating in public. He was originally arrested on that charge and police added the domestic assault and rape charges later.Hassane was arraigned Monday in Lynn District Court, where Judge Ellen Flatley ordered him held without bail pending a Tuesday, March 31 dangerousness hearing.
