REVERE – A Revere man was found guilty Tuesday of cocaine trafficking but acquitted of weapons charges and has been sentenced to at least nine years in state prison, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.Abdul Lopez, 27, was on trial for two counts of cocaine trafficking, one count of a drug violation in a school zone and three counts of unlicensed possession of firearms. According to Jake Wark, spokesman for District Attorney Dan Conley, Lopez was only found guilty of one count each of cocaine trafficking and a drug violation in a school zone but acquitted of the other charges.”Clearly the jury credited the testimony of the state Trooper who he sold 40 grams of cocaine to,” Wark said.Lopez, formerly of 690 Broadway, was arrested in December 2007 after Revere and state police raided his home. Lopez had sold cocaine to an undercover state police officer numerous times.A search of Lopez’ home ended after police found over 150 grams of crack cocaine, a fully-loaded .38-caliber revolver, a high-capacity assault rifle, bullet proof vests, various ammunition and drug paraphernalia.Suffolk Superior Court Judge Christine McEvoy sentenced Lopez on Tuesday to seven years for cocaine trafficking and 2 1/2 to three years for drug violations in a school zone. Wark said Lopez must serve the seven-year sentence before serving the 2 1/2 to three-year sentence. Two other suspects in the case, identified as Salvatore DiPrizio, 19, of 566 Park Ave., Revere and David Minasian, 20, of 56 Essex St., Malden, pleaded guilty to drugs and weapons charges at an earlier date and are currently serving three years in state prison, according to Wark.
