SALEM – The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has created untold grant opportunities, which is the subject of a free workshop Friday at Salem State College’s Bertolon School of Business.U.S. Rep. John F. Tierney, a Salem Democrat, is slated to lead the grant seminar to which grant applicants, participating agencies and grant writers with common goals are welcome.”He wants to make certain that interested parties are aware of all the funding opportunities available under the ARRA and hopes that the seminar will lead to coordinated and collaborative partnerships among the attendees,” said Tierney spokeswoman Catherine Ribeiro.According to Ribeiro, agencies participating in the seminar include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Justice, the federal Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Parks Service, the National Endowment for the Arts, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the state Department of Energy and Environment and the state Department of Housing and Community Development.Registration is required since seating is limited.
