REVERE – Police continued Thursday searching for the gunman who shot a 29-year-old Revere man in the ankle on Payson Street Wednesday night.Hector Maldonado was shot once in front of 14 Payson shortly after 7 p.m., police said.Maldonado told police a white man in his early 20s approached him on the sidewalk and said, “What’s up cuz” before the suspect chased him down the street and fired one gunshot, according to a police report.The victim said he has no gang affiliations and had never met the gunman before, but police are investigating the truth of that.Police at the scene found three .9 millimeter shell casings on the street after the shooting.The suspect was last seen running through back yards toward Revere High School.
