LYNN – Actor Ben Affleck made a brief appearance Wednesday at the Lawrence Gannon Municipal Golf Course where a film crew shot a scene from the upcoming movie “The Company Men.””This was really spur of the moment,” said Andrea Scalise, deputy chief of staff to Mayor Edward Clancy Jr. “It wasn’t a gigantic shoot and the course wasn’t closed.”According to Scalise, the city is negotiating with the movie production company, which purportedly plans to return to the golf course in June to resume shooting. “They’ll be subleasing the course from the Gannon Building Association,” she said, noting that filmmakers doing business in the city typically make a goodwill donation to City Hall.If all goes as planned, the film crews will return in early June. In addition to Affleck, the movie stars Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner and actress Rosemarie DeWitt. Directed by John Wells, the plot centers on the nation’s economic downturn that leaves Affleck – a six-figure corporate executive – out of work and looking to his blue-collar construction worker brother-in-law – played by Costner – for guidance.
