LYNN – A full schedule of free healthy activities for kids is on tap at the Lynn YMCA on Saturday as part of Healthy Kids Day.Starting at 10 a.m., families can take advantage of a wide array of activities such as yoga and gym games to Zumba dance classes, a spinning session for teenagers and a swim class for 6-10 year olds, according to Audry Jimenez, the YMCA branch director.”It’s free and it’s fun,” said Sharon Dobbyn, the fitness director and Zumba instructor. “It’s an event for the whole family.”Dobbyn said the event is designed to promote healthy kids and families in spirit, mind and body, in keeping with the YMCA’s mission. “It celebrates making fitness fun and introduces kids to an array of YMCA programs and tools that teach healthy behaviors and healthy ways to play – which is an essential lesson in learning how to take care of themselves throughout their lifetimes,” she said.A canine demonstration, a safety presentation by the Lynn Fire Department and ITM Dance and Step performance are all part of the fun at the YMCA, 20 Neptune Boulevard.
