LYNN – Former Superintendent of Schools Nicholas Kostan and community activist Agnes Ricko will receive the Lynn Museum’s prestigious Chase-Hacker Awards next month, a celebration of decades of service to the community by both honorees.The award is named for founding president of the Lynn Museum Phillip Chase and advocate for the less fortunate Sallie Hacker. The Chase-Hacker Award is given out to a select few Lynn natives who have dedicated their lives to the community.Prior to his retirement in January, Kostan worked in the Lynn Public Schools for 37 years, the last seven of which were spent as superintendent.A longtime City Hall employee and community activist, Ricko now serves as head of the city’s Democratic committee.”We are honored to honor these two individuals,” said Steve Babbitt, Museum president. “We invite the community to join us in the recognition of their achievements.”The awards ceremony will take place Wednesday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the museum courtyard.
