BOSTON – The Boston Bruins will open their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Carolina Hurricane Friday, at 7:30 p.m., at the Boston Garden.
The Bruins have earned home ice advantage for the entire Stanley Cup Playoffs, thank to the Anaheim Ducks’ upset over the San Jose Sharks in the first round.
The Hurricanes, formerly the Hartford Whalers, scoring a stunning comeback win over the New Jersey Devils last night, scoring two goals the final 1:20 ? including the game-winner with 32 seconds left ? to win Game 7.
The Bruins won their first playoff series since 1999, sweeping the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the Eastern Conference semis.
Sunday’s game at the Garden begins at 7:30, and Games 3 and 4 will be played Wednesday and next Friday, both at 7:30, at the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C.
Should there be a Game 5, it would be Sunday, May 10, at 7:30 in Boston. Game 6 is back in North Carolina Tuesday, May 12 (7:30), with the finale ? if necessary ? back in Boston on Thursday, May 14, at a time to be determined.
