LYNN – A Lynn attorney arrested for the third time on a drunken driving charge last week was placed on home confinement Wednesday.Tracy N. Tavilla will remain in jail, where she has been since her arrest last Thursday, until this Friday when she will be released to her home with a bracelet monitor.Tavilla was arrested by Marblehead Police last Thursday after a traffic stop for erratic driving. According to police, Tavilla gave a false name and social security number and was belligerent with officers after she attempted to talk her way out of an arrest.She failed a field sobriety test at the station and blew a .22 when police administered a Breathalyzer test.The arrest was her third for operating under the influence in Massachusetts. Tavilla also has a reckless driving charge on her record out of Tennessee.Tavilla first appeared before Judge Dunbar Livingston last Friday, but the judge delayed a dangerousness hearing until Wednesday, holding Tavilla without bail.Livingston ordered the attorney to home confinement with the bracelet and revoked her license.Tavilla is a well-known defense attorney in the area with a practice at 23 Central Ave. in Lynn. She is best known for defending Carmen “Big Cheese” Dinunzio, a reputed Boston mafia boss.
