LYNN – Red Hot Revelry is the operative phrase for June 6 when LynnArts hosts its fourth annual art auction and fundraiser at its galleries in Central Square.Cynthia Woo, an activities coordinator at LynnArts, 25 Exchange St., said the Saturday event is among the North Shore’s most popular arts venues and offers guests an opportunity to purchase fine art.The Saturday night’s theme of Red Hot Revelry is meant to conjure favorite carnival memories among the guests. The event, from 7-10 p.m., will also feature a silent auction, carnival games and festival foods.”This year, our popular art auction features original artwork from Boston-area artists,” said Woo, noting that the lineup includes Jocelyn Almy-Testa of Lynn, Donna Baldassari of Lynn, Elaine Caliri Daly of Marblehead, Marilyn Cloran and Rick Cloran, both of Swampscott, Frank Costantino of Winthrop, Jeff Fiorvanti of Lynn, Jake Fried of Boston, Marcia Hermann of Beverly, Megan Holst of Marblehead, Liz Mitsuye Horwitz of Newton, Bridget Jourgensen of Lynn, Gaspar Lafata, Elizabeth Lamb of Boston, Steve Negron of Lynn, Jean Noyes of Lynn, Barbara Rafferty of Marblehead, Sand T of Malden and Martha Wakefield of Belmont.”These artists work in a variety of mediums from painting to jewelry, guaranteeing there will be something for everyone,” Woo said.More than 100 guests are expected to attend in a show of support for LynnArts and the North Shore arts community, she said, noting that proceeds from the event support the programs and services administered through LynnArts. These programs, which include youth classes, exhibitions, festivals and public performances, serve nearly 10,000 people annually. The LynnArts building has the city’s only black-box theater and the first gallery on the North Shore dedicated exclusively to children, Woo said.Theater performances, concerts, classes and exhibitions are all part of the 2009 schedule of activities at LynnArts.
