SAUGUS – Barbara Jarosz won’t be home for Mother’s Day this year, instead she will be spending her special day behind bars.Jarosz was arrested and charged with embezzling $404,000 earlier this year from a Malden company and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in jail.Jarosz pleaded guilty in February to seven counts of forgery of a document, one count of larceny over $250, one count of falsifying/omitting bookkeeping entries and one count of obtaining a signature by false pretense.Jessica Venezia, spokesman for the Middlesex District Attorney’s office, said Jarosz was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in jail and five years probation. The probation, she added, came with strict conditions such as she cannot seek employment in the financial field and she must pay restitution.Barbara Jarosz is the wife of local attorney Eric Jarosz, who suffered his own run of bad luck in 2006 when he lost his license to practice law for nine months over a real estate deal. He has since regained the right to practice and is again making his living as an attorney, while taking care of his three children.
