LYNN – Two-month-old Jarrod Wallace Jr. was fussing so his grandfather moved him from a baby seat by the front window of 437 Chestnut St. to a playpen on the other side of the room. The move may have saved the boy’s life.A car slammed into the house at 5:13 p.m. Monday, gouging a hole in the exterior wall and tossing a heating radiator located inches away from where Jarrod had been sitting across the room.”He woke up and cried and then he was fine,” said his mother, Nicole Kidney.Kidney said the driver of the Lincoln Continental was taken to the hospital and medical and police information on the accident was not available Tuesday.Kidney is not sure how the car jumped the curb, narrowly missing a tree, and rolled across the Kidneys’ small lawn before striking the house. She said the collision is not the first involving a Chestnut Street driver and her family home.
