LYNN – It is a record any good attorney would be proud of.For the second straight year the Breed Middle School Mock Trial Team has finished the competition season undefeated, bringing the team’s record to 11-1 over the past three years.Competing against other area middle schools, including Pickering, Melrose Middle School and Lynnfield Middle School, the 15-student team competes in four mock trial competitions each year at courthouses in both Lynn and Salem. Each year the schools receive a case to work on and compete against one another in four separate trials, acting twice as the prosecution and twice as the defense.Team coach Mathew Mahoney says his team’s preparation is the key to victory and praised the 15 team members for working hard after school so that they can perform well in competitions.”They do a lot of preparation on their own,” said Mahoney. “I have to congratulate our eighth graders, Ashley Ellis, Casey McNulty and our captain Sean Reid for a remarkable three years winning 11 out of 12 mock trials as a group. I would encourage more kids to try out if they are interested.”
