North Shore Community College honors graduates

LYNN – Over 900 members of the class of 2009 crossed the O’Keefe Center stage Thursday as North Shore Community College celebrated its latest graduating class.Graduates of both the college’s Lynn and Danvers campuses looked on as Commencement speaker Gov. Deval Patrick shared the podium with distinguished graduates and special guests, including student speaker Cheryl Callanan and Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute Director James Ridley.A 1973 graduate of NSCC, Ridley received the college’s Distinguished Alumnus Award Thursday, recognizing his work in the community and success as both a teacher and coach in his native city.After graduating from NSCC, Ridley went on to earn a bachelors degree from Salem State College and a Master’s degree from Cambridge College.
