Lynn school board meet cancelled

LYNN – The regularly scheduled meeting of the Lynn School Committee set to take place Thursday night has been canceled due to a busy week of commitments for all members.A number of events are taking place in and around many city organizations Thursday, including Lynn Vocational Technical Institute’s graduation, the Shoe City Lions’ Woman of the Year Awards Dinner and the Classical High School Alumni Association’s Scholarship Award Ceremony, among others.The June 11 meeting would have been the last for the committee prior to a public hearing on the fiscal year 2010 budget scheduled for June 25, although the department has completed what is believed to be the final version of the budget unless someone comes forward with an eleventh-hour amendment later this month.All agenda items scheduled for this week will be added to the June 15 agenda, which will immediately follow the public hearing budget.
