SALEM – Six men and a Lynn woman were indicted on Wednesday afternoon on separate cases involving robbery, firearm and narcotic crimes by an Essex County grand jury.Michael Moran, 30, homeless of Lynn, along with Brian Sevoich, 23, of 332 Revere Beach Blvd., Revere, and Anna Clifford, 42, of 4 Sydney Ave., #2, Lynn, are charged each with two counts of armed robbery in connection with the May 9 holdup of Blockbuster Video in Lynn.According to reports, it was shortly before noon when two men walked into the Blockbuster Video located at 100 Boston St. and demanded money.The robbers threatened a female employee and shoved another female worker as they stole nearly $3,000 in cash.The would-be-robbers jumped into an SUV driven by a female and fled from the scene.Two concerned civilians followed the getaway vehicle to the Cook Street playground and blocked in the SUV until police arrived at the scene.Police recovered the cash when they arrested the alleged suspects.A conviction on armed robbery carries a potential life sentence in state prison.Assistant District Attorney Jean M. Curran is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth.Jeremy Grafton, 36, of 41 Bowdoin St., #36, Boston, is charged with unarmed robbery in connection with the May 27 holdup at the Century Bank in Lynn where an undetermined amount of cash was stolen.It was just after 4 p.m. when a lone bandit walked into the Century Bank located at 2 State St. and handed a female teller a note that read: “I have a gun. Empty out the cash draw. No dyes.”The very frightened bank teller turned over the cash and the robber fled from the bank.No gun was actually shown.Unbeknownst to the robber, a very determined bank manager chased him out and stopped the taxi carrying the robber until police arrived at the scene and arrested Grafton.Ludwin Midence, 33, of 430 River St., #24, Mattapan, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling concerning an incident in Saugus on May 9 when he was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. for assaulting a local resident with a firearm.Kevin S. Kauppinen, 42, and Gary M. Cole, III, 51, both of 6 Hancock St., Salem, are charged with trafficking more than 28 grams of cocaine.They were arrested April 6 after Salem police raided their apartment on Hancock Street and reportedly seized 58 grams of cocaine and 10 twists of cocaine secretly hidden inside a 1-liter Dr. Pepper bottle with a false bottom inside the refrigerator.Indictments are a legal process that transfers criminal cases from District Court to Superior Court allowing for a more severe punishment. It is not an indication of guilt.
