LYNN – Police responded to a report of gunshots fired near the Ford School shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday and located two bullet holes in an apartment at 122 Jefferson St.The discovery underscored a renewed outbreak of local gun play police are working to end.Four people were injured in shootings last Saturday night and early Sunday morning at eight locations including Lawton Avenue, two corners on the Commons, Light and Sheridan streets. No one was apparently hurt in the Tuesday shooting. After receiving a call about gunshots fired near the Ford School at 6:11 p.m., officers investigated and were alerted to the bullet holes in 122 Jefferson. After residents reported hearing sounds like fireworks igniting in the direction of Rockaway Street, police found spent shell casings in the area of 91 Rockaway St.”It is unclear at this time whether the incident is related to the recent violence witnessed this past weekend,” said Lt. William Sharpe.Sharpe said four patrol officers were added to night and morning patrol shifts to “focus specifically on problem locations relative to gang activity.”The additional officers are working with Lynn and State Police Gang Unit members and Essex Sheriff’s and Probation Department officers to crack down on gang activity.
