Highlands Coalition to hold Youth Fest

LYNN – The Highlands Coalition has partnered with several community organizations from all corners of the city to sponsor a Peace in the City Youth Fest this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at High Rock Park.The event is open to all of the city’s youth and their families and will feature music, dance, poetry and comedy entertainment along with raffles and activity booths for children.The event will also feature a T-shirt design contest and a poetry contest with the theme ‘what does peace mean to you?’Along with the Highlands Coalition, the event is sponsored by LINC, Hamiltonave.com, HAWC, Social Capital Inc., Lynn Community Development, Maria Carrasco, the Amelia Peabody Foundation, YMCA, Girls Inc., the High Rock Tower Association, Lynn Health Task Force, Neighbor to Neighbor, Crime Watch, the Gateway Project, Lynn Community Connections, the Ford School, the Lynn Community Health Center, ECCO and the North Shore Labor Council.
