For local golfers, a memorable run comes to an end

Two Gannon golfers have concluded their run at the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM) Amateur Championship and Presidents’ Cup.Tara Friedman, seeded fourth in Presidents’ Cup competition, lost to No. 13 Cindy Fentross on Wednesday morning, 4 and 3, on the 14th hole. Meanwhile, Anne Fraser, No. 10 in the Championship Flight, lost 4 and 3 to No. 7 Tracy Martin, also on the 14th hole.”We both just grinded out and battled it,” Friedman said of the Gannon duo. “But it was a good time. It was awesome.”The tournament wraps up today at Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro. Friedman called it a great experience and a great group of golfers.”WGAM runs a fabulous tournament,” she added.
