Health support groups meeting in the Lynn area this week

The Daily ItemSalem Hospital/ Lynn Union HospitalHealing With Hope General Cancer Support Group, Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. NSMC Union Hospital, Healing Atrium (500 Lynnfield St., Lynn, MA). This group combines yoga, meditation, guided imagery, support and education to help people with cancer cope with fear and stress and to strengthen their natural healing abilities. For more information, please call 978-573-5390.Bereavement: Fetal/Newborn Loss Second Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8 p.m. NSMC Salem Hospital (81 Highland Ave., Salem, MA) This bereavement support group is for couples who have had a fetal or newborn loss. For more information, call Sue Nevins at 978-354-3357 or email [email protected]’s Anonymous Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. NSMC North Shore Children’s Hospital (57 Highland Ave., Salem, MA) Lynch Conference Room This program helps stop compulsive eating. For more information, call 978-741-2381.Beverly HospitalMelanoma Support Group. This Melanoma Foundation of New England sponsored support group, facilitated by Kelli Braga, LICSW, takes place 6-7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. The group, open to all those who have been diagnosed with melanoma, meets in the Garden Conference Room located on the first floor of the Beverly Hospital. There is no fee to participate but pre-registration is required by calling 978-922-3000, ext. 2710, or by calling the Melanoma Foundation of New England at 617-232-1424.MotherTime Support Group at the North Shore Birth Center. The North Shore Birth Center, located on the campus of Beverly Hospital, conducts a free MotherTime support group that meets on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. This support group is available free of charge and there is no pre-registration required. All area mothers of infants and young children are welcome to attend. For further information, please call 978-927-7880.Other GroupsW.E.L.L. Recovery, Women Embracing Life and Living (W.E.L.L.) meets Mondays from 6-7 p.m. at the Lynn YMCA, 20 Neptune Blvd., Lynn. It is a free self-help group for women in recovery who have co-occurring mental health issues. For more information call Darlene at 781- 599-9288.Bereavement Support Group, All Care Hospice offers free bereavement support and counseling group in Lynn for those adults coping with the loss of a significant other/spouse. A support group for the separated and divorced meets at 7:30 p.m. every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at the Lynnfield Community Church, 735 Salem St., Lynnfield, MA. The church is also known as the United Church of Christ. Parking is in the rear of the church. A $3 voluntary donation is requested at the meeting. New members are always welcome. This group is free and open to anyone who has suffered a loss of a loved one. It will meet on the second Monday of each month at Temple Ner Tamid, 368 Lowell St, Peabody, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
