SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa ? One of the best things about being 11 or 12 years old is the ability to bounce back quickly from adversity, and that is exactly what the boys from Peabody West must do if they hope to stay alive in the Little League World Series.
The Peabody nine played sloppy defense behind starting pitcher Austin Batchelor and could muster just three hits off Texas starter Travis Daves as they dropped their opening game in pool play 10-1 Friday night before an estimated crowd of 13,500 at Lamade Stadium.
Peabody committed three errors which led to 5 unearned runs.
?We just did not play well,” Peabody manager Dave Batchelor said. “We made three or four errors in the field and that hurt us. They score three or four runs after that error.”
