The St. John’s Prep golf team won an early-season Catholic Conference showdown with a 243-251 win over BC High Wednesday at Wollaston Golf Course.The “Nick” contingent got the job done, with Nick McLaughlin shooting a 1-over 37, Nick Pandelena, a 38 and Nick Velonis and Nick Maccario, a 39.Both teams were undefeated heading into the match. The Prep is now 6-0 overall, 3-0 in the conference, and BC High is 5-1, 3-1.Prep coach Larry O’Neill said it’s nice to get the first one against a league rival.”They’ll have to come to Salem Country Club to play us.
