Marblehead High boys soccer coach Steve Ingemi remembers well the last time his team beat rival Swampscott.It was 2005 and the Magicians (4-1-1) were losing 1-0 at half. When the two teams returned from halftime, the field was covered by a half inch of snow. By the time the game ended, it was closer to two inches and Marblehead had rallied to win the game.The Magicians didn’t need any intervention from Mother Nature Friday in a 1-0 win over the Big Blue (2-3).With about seven minutes remaining in the first half, Dillon Irving scored off a corner kick by Nate Cullen and the goal held up. Keeper Mark Imber (12 saves) was under the gun all afternoon, but didn’t buckle. Matt Frankel and Bill Wyman came up big in the midfield in the win.Swampscott coach Mike Chase said he felt his team controlled the pace and probably played its best game of the season, but still came away empty handed. He said it appeared his team had scored early in the game, but officials ruled no goal.”It was our toughest loss of the season,” Chase said.Peabody 3, Revere 2At Revere, the Tanners had to dig themselves out of a big of a hole after spotting Revere a 2-0 lead 17 minutes into the game. Colin Mahoney put Peabody on the comeback trail with a goal 35 minutes into the first half and 30 seconds later, Lucas DeOliveira tied things up with the assist going to Luke Finkelstein. Kyle McGlone, who had assisted on Mahoney’s goal, delivered the game-winner midway through the second half with assists to Finkelstein and Mahoney.”We made a couple of mistakes early in the game,” Peabody coach Stan McKeen said. “This was the first time we’ve been behind. It showed that the guys can come back.”Jason Ryan (8-saves) picked up the win as the Tanners improved to 4-0-1.Brahim Rhazi, scored the first Revere goal and the second was an own goal. The Patriots are 0-2-4.Winthrop 3, Saugus 1At Winthrop, the game was tied 1-1 at the half with Carmen Bordonaro accounting for the Saugus (1-5)goal. The assist went to Chris Duplisea. Stopper K.J. Mills and outside midfielders Al lan Gray and Alex Ung played well despite the loss.Salem 3, Beverly 2At Salem State College, Brion Likaj scored the winner with 12 minutes. to go.
