MARBLEHEAD – Police are searching for the driver of a light colored, late model Infinity FX or EX SUV, who may have witnessed the accident that claimed the life of 15-year-old Alessandra “Allie” Castner last month.
Castner was struck by a motor vehicle on Aug. 24 at 6:55 p.m. on Pleasant Street near Mohawk Road in Marblehead. Castner, who was student at Marblehead High School, was first taken to Salem Hospital and later transferred by medical helicopter to the Boston Medical Center where she died.Early Monday afternoon, Marblehead Police issued a BOLO (be on the look out) for an individual who may have witnessed the fatal accident. According to a press release issued by Marblehead police, the vehicle may have been directly behind the gray Volvo driven by Thomas A. Larivee that struck Castner.?This vehicle would have been heading West (outbound) at the time of the accident and was diverted by civilians down Mohawk Road,” according to the press release.A police radio transmission asked area police departments to be on the lookout for the white, tan, beige or cream SUV, which was driven by a female. The radio transmission described the witness as a white woman between 40 and 60 years old with short blonde or gray hair.?The driver of this vehicle may have witnessed the fatal pedestrian accident in Marblehead on Aug.24,” the statement read.Marblehead Police Chief Robert O. Picariello declined to comment beyond what was stated in the press release.The Registry of Motor Vehicles revoked the driver’s license of Larivee, 18, on Friday declaring he is an immediate threat based on his involvement in an Aug. 24 crash in Marblehead.Although Larivee’s license has been revoked by the Registry, he has not been charged with any crime or violation stemming from the accident.Anyone wth information should contact the Marblehead Police at 781-631-1212.
