MARBLEHEAD – Tickets go on sale online Thursday for the Marblehead Little Theater’s production of “Oklahoma.”The MLT is hoping that Marblehead is just a town that can’t say no to a good play – and this time even the set is a star.MLT representative Janet Sheehan and actors Alex Grover and Fjaere Harder told selectmen last week the set for their production is the touring company set. The classic Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein musical, which debuted on Broadway in 1943, was revived on Broadway with movie star Hugh Jackman as Curley, the cowboy hero.”We know we belong to the community and the community we belong to is grand,” the actors said, paraphrasing lines from an “Oklahoma” song.Harder even brought the selectmen an apple pie “from Aunt Eller’s oven,” prompting Selectmen Chairman Jackie Belf-Becker to ask, “Are you going to sing while we eat?”The play will be presented at the Nelson Aldrich Performing Arts Center at the Marblehead Veterans Middle School Fridays-Sundays Nov. 6-8 and 13-15. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with 2 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a paid admission dress rehearsal Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15-$30.
