MARBLEHEAD – Monday’s three-alarm fire at an Auburndale Road home was likely caused by a gas grill, authorities said.The fire remains under investigation. The home at 9 Auburndale Road sustained heavy damage after fire burned through the roof. The family was home at the time and about to celebrate Yom Kippur. The grill was apparently too close to the structure.Marblehead Fire Capt. Mike Porter said portable grills should not be placed on a combustible surface. Fire departments from Lynn, Swampscott and Nahant responded.
