LYNN – Residents off Lynnfield Street became car break-in victims early Tuesday when three thieves stole global positioning systems and other electronic equipment from eight cars.Police said the thieves stole eight GPS units from eight vehicles belonging to seven residents. They also grabbed four iPods, a laptop computer, digital camera, Coach key purse, pendant and other items before alert officers confronted the trio on Great Woods Road at 2:30 a.m.Police Lt. Peter Holey and Officers John McKenna and Andrew Beaver arrested Lia Barney, 18, in front of her 19 Great Woods Road home along with Isidro Reyes Jr., 20, of 10 Henry Ave., who told police after they questioned him how he obtained several items in his pants pocket, “I don’t know, these aren’t my pants.”Joseph Feliciano, 19, of 72 Warren St. #3, fled police but was captured, arrested and charged, along with Reyes and Barney, with receiving stolen property. The trio pleaded innocent Tuesday in District Court and are scheduled to return to court on Nov. 13.Police warned residents across the city during the summer about an increase in car breaks and urged them to lock vehicles and to not leave valuables in vehicles, including phone and GPS chargers or any other accessories that might tip thieves off to the presence of valuable items in a vehicle.
