Revere FD to hold safety instruction day Saturday

REVERE – Firefighters will offer fire prevention tips and other safety suggestions Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Broadway fire station, 400 Broadway.Papa Gino’s is sponsoring the safety instruction day and handing out free pizza and children’s coloring sheets at the firehouse.”This event allows us to reach out to the community and arm local families with fire safety tips and procedures,” said Fire Chief Eugene Doherty.October is National Fire Safety Month with firefighters across the country focusing on fire safety reminders, including smoke detector battery inspection and making sure family members know the fastest way to leave their home if a fire starts.Firefighters at Broadway station will also teach residents the “stop, drop and roll” technique for extinguishing fire and how to safely crawl through a smoke-filled room.For more information about Saturday’s open house, call Inspector Daniel Maniff at 781-286-8363.
