The Falcons took the lead at the 30-minute mark on Persson’s second goal of the night (Becky Landers assist), but Peabody’s Katie Brunelle tied things up a minute later. With less than a minute left in the first half, Russo netted her second of the night (Tess Saunders assist) to give Danvers a 4-3 lead, but Peabody’s Emily Manoogian tied the game at 4-4 on a penalty kick.Dowd notched her third of the game 21 minutes into the second half to put the Tanners on top, 5-4, but Persson scored her third (Becky Landers assist) to salvage the tie. Brienna Griffin (12 saves) was in net for Peabody.”It almost felt like whoever had the ball last was going to win,” Hinchion said. “The speed of both teams’ attacks was amazing. It was like a tournament game.”Peabody coach Dennis Desrosches would have liked a win, but was happy to come out of Danvers with the tie.”Hayley’s a freshman. She’s playing beyond her years. She stepped it up. The whole team did,” Desrosches said.Spellman 1, St. Mary’s 0At Brockton, the Cardinals scored in the first half and the goal stood up.
