LYNN – Sparky the Firedog is coming to the Broadway firehouse today along with public safety experts who will serve free pizza while teaching children the stop-drop-and-roll technique and the importance of smoke detectors.The fire station’s annual Fire Prevention Open House from 2:30-4:30 p.m. will also provide visitors with an opportunity to examine fire apparatus close up. Firefighters will hand out information packets on fire safety procedures. They will also practice fire drills and demonstrate how to properly check the operation of a smoke detector.Children and their parents, guardians and family members are invited. The Fire Department annually extends the open house invitation to all the city’s schools.
