SALEM – A Lynn man who allegedly beat and zapped his 54-year-old stepfather with a stun gun during an altercation at their home on Den Quarry Road was one of five North Shore men indicted Wednesday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Steven Sanseverino, 24, of 301 Den Quarry Road, Lynn, faces charges of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stun gun in connection with an incident at his home in August.According to reports, Sanseverino allegedly attacked his 54-year-old stepfather at their home on Aug. 15 after his stepfather asked him about a missing envelope containing cash that he had placed in the trunk of his car.The victim told authorities he was repeatedly attacked with a stun gun by his stepson. He tried to defend himself, but his stepson kept zapping him.At some point the victim was able to stumble over to his neighbor’s home for help.When police arrived they found the victim covered with blood and suffering from massive facial injuries and a broken jaw.The victim, who reportedly operates a pizza shop, had initially placed the cash in a safe he keeps in his office, but when he returned home that day he found holes punched in the walls, but the safe was intact.He then placed the money in the truck of his car.Sanseverino was arrested later that day on a warrant.The indictments now move the case from Lynn District Court, where Sanseverino has pleaded innocent, to Salem Superior Court where Sanseverino will be re-arraigned within a few weeks.In the meantime Sanseverino remains held without bail at the Middleton Jail.Assistant District Attorney James P. Gubitose is assigned to prosecute the case for the state.Also indicted:Jeffrey Little, 47, of 20 Park St., #30, Lynn, charged with armed assault with intent to rob and assault with a dangerous weapon concerns an incident in Lynn on Sept. 11 when he allegedly tried to rob a man with a BB gun.Curtis Davis, 36, of 1 Howard St., Salem and his brother Clovicel B. Davis, 28, of 12 Simon St., Beverly, stand charged with two counts each of armed robbery in connection with a holdup at the Plaza Motel on 125 Newbury St., Peabody, on Sept. 10.The night clerk told police two men entered the motel shortly after 4 a.m. inquiring about a room.As the clerk was speaking, one of the suspects, later identified as Curtis Davis, apparently reached into his pocket suggesting he had a gun and demanded money.The other would-be robber, who was later identified as Clovicel, began pushing the clerk and then allegedly grabbed the gold chain that was around his neck.The two fled from the scene and were later arrested by Peabody police on Main Street.Curtis Davis has also been charged as a habitual offender having been convicted twice of crimes in Suffolk Superior Court and Essex Superior Court and sentenced to prison.Joseph F. Marino, III, 48, of 2 Hanley St., Swampscott, faces additional charges for armed robbery, armed assault with intent to rob, larceny of property over $250, being a habitual offender as well as two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon stemming from two incidents in Salem in August.On Aug. 8 he allegedly stole three cartons of cigarettes from a CVS Pharmacy in Salem.The following day police say he robbed the 7-Eleven Store on North Street of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint.Marino is also under indictment for robbing several banks and businesses in the area.Indictments are not an indication of guilt: It is a legal formality that allows a case to be handed up from District Court to Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
