Fringe Hair Salon at Pickering Wharf is reaching out to help the region’s largest emergency shelter and counseling service for victims of domestic abuse by offering to donate $5 for every purple hair extension sold during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.The salon at 79 Wharf St. will offer the purple hair pieces, just in time for Halloween, to benefit Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC). Each hair extension is $10 but 50 percent of the proceeds will go to HAWC.Appointments can be made Tuesday and Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., or on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the remainder of October.
