Roundup: Fenwick boys clinch fourth straight CCL Meet

The Bishop Fenwick boys cross country team captured its fourth consecutive CCL Meet at Franklin Park in Boston on Thursday.Fenwick finished first in this 3.1-mile race with a total of 27 points. The second-place team was 45 points behind.Fenwick had seven runners finish in the top 20. Bill Harrington led the way, coming in first (17:26). Andrew Young finished third (17:59). Joe O’Brien finished fourth (18:13). Kevin Fini finished seventh (18:28). Tom Banks finished 12th (19:00).Classical 15, Everett 50At Lynn Woods, Classical had strong performances from everyone on this cold day. Perry Raymond, Louis Diaz, and Jordan Clabeaux finished first through third. Classical finished the season 1-7.GIRLS CROSS COUNTRYClassical 27, Everett 28At Lynn Woods, Classical’s Katie Thongchanh led the way, coming in first (25:02). Maggie Bradbury finished fourth (27:55). Vania Aguila finished sixth (29:55). Classical coach Chris Hayward was very proud of his team’s performance.”It was cold and all the kids ran well. I am very excited to leave this season on a winning note,” Hayward said.Classical finished the season 2-6.Fenwick in CCL MeetFenwick finished fifth overall out of eight teams with 117 points. Mariel Quezada finished 19th (23:32). Megan Woodcock finished 21st (23:35). Hannah Smith finished 23rd (23:44).FIELD HOCKEYMarblehead 5, Salem 0At Marblehead, Marblehead would spread the scoring out with five different players scoring. Courtney Maher, Hannah Wolf, Julia Burke, Blake Bernier, and Olympia Glenn all scored one goal. Maher added an assist. Also playing well on offense were Caroline McCarthy and Shelby Rosenberg. Playing well on the defensive side were Ari Moscone, Sydney Andrews, and goalie Kayla Casale.Danvers 2, Peabody 1At Danvers, the Falcons (8-7-2) qualified for the state tournament. Seth Kamens scored both Danvers goals – both on strokes, the second of which snapped a 1-1 halftime tie. Aurora Christo was in net for Danvers.S’scott 4, Everett 1At Everett, Alex Wilson led the Big Blue with two goals and an assist.
