But there is still the task of getting past Winthrop at a field that has caught many top teams in the past.Marblehead found itself in a battle with Beverly last week, trailing after one quarter before rallying to tie the game at the half. After the teams traded scores to give a 21-20 lead in the third quarter, the Magicians put the pedal down.Marcel Hardmon raced 29 yards to give Marblehead the lead for good. He added two more fourth quarter touchdowns on the way to 151 yards on the ground.Marblehead will deal with a Viking team (3-6, 1-3) that is coming in off a 16-3 loss to Danvers that saw them play without feature running back Nick McCarthy, who was out due to injury.English at PeabodyAt Coley Lee Field (7), the Bulldogs (7-2, 2-1 NEC North) will look to get a road win against a Tanner (3-6, 1-3) squad looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Classical.English had to hang on for dear life last week as Salem failed on a 2-point conversion attempt in the final moments in a 14-12 Bulldog win. Tailback Jermaine Patterson continued his stellar play, rushing for both English scores as the Bulldogs were able to offset a 1-for-10 passing performance from quarterback Tyllor McDonald.Peabody had a fourth-quarter touchdown pass go through the hands of a wide open receiver in a 15-0 game and saw the Rams recover two onside kicks in the second quarter.St. Mary’s at SpellmanAt Brockton (7), the Spartans (6-2, 2-2 Catholic Central League/Large) used a dramatic touchdown pass from Cam Mulvey to Tim Ray in the final minute to beat Fenwick for the first time in over two decades last week.The Spartans were actually outgained in the game but got a critical goal line stand in the final minutes to spark the comeback. Nick Day had 94 yards and two touchdowns on the ground for St. Mary’s in the win.Saugus at DanversAt Dr. Deering Stadium (7), the Falcons (5-4, 2-2 NEC Small) will look to continue the momentum of last week’s 16-3 road win at Winthrop against a Sachem team that fell to 1-7 with a loss to Swampscott.Danvers led only 7-3 after three quarters against the Vikings but got a safety and a 16-yard touchdown run from John McInnis in the final quarter to break the game open. They will face a Saugus team that hung tough against powerful Swampscott last week.The Sachems (0-4 NEC South) surrendered 21 first quarter points to the Big Blue before shutting them out in the second half.Williams at FenwickAt Donaldson Field (7), a pair of teams looking for their first win in CCL Large play will meet. The Crusaders (3-6, 0-3) will look to rebound from a tough 24-20 loss to St. Mary’s a week ago.Nick Corbett was the star of the night for Fenwick in the loss, rushing for 207 yards and all three Crusader touchdowns.Revere at SalemAt Bertram Field (7), both teams will look to get back in the win column after tough losses last Friday. The Patriots (2-7, 1-3 NEC North) got a pair of touchdown passes from Paul Norton in a 36-13 loss to Gloucester.For Salem, it was a near upset in a 14-12 loss to English. The Witches outgained the Bulldogs 240-202 but saw a 2-point pass to tie broken up in the final moments.
