LYNN – Drivers and residents get a chance Tuesday night to comment on reconstruction work planned for parts of Lynnfield Street.”This is an important meeting on the future of our neighborhood which is the gateway to Lynn. I encourage all interested residents to join with me,” Ward 1 City Councilor Wayne Lozzi said.Public Works Commissioner Jay Fink said the work is not scheduled to start for two years but it will include improving driver sight lines at the corner of Lynnfield and Great Woods Road and Lynnfield and Bacheller Street.Fink said the Lynnfield-Bacheller intersection will be “squared off” to improve sight lines.”The line of sight of the curve (at Great Woods Road) is a little problematic,” he added. The project includes roadway and safety improvements along Lynnfield Street from Colonial Avenue to 150 feet south of Floyd Avenue including drainage improvements, granite curbing, cement concrete sidewalks and wheelchair ramps.A new flashing beacon will be installed at the Lynnfield Street and Great Woods Road intersection, and the work will also include new roadway pavement and pavement markings, traffic signing and other incidental work.State Rep.
