MARBLEHEAD-Selectmen will hold a hearing Dec. 9 to determine whether The Landing Resturant over-served a customer earlier this month.Police arrested Salem resident Donald Mark Felt after a Front Street accident at 2:19 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, and charged him with driving under the influence of liquor. Patrolman Michael Everett, who responded to a call about the accident, said Felt moved with difficulty, his speech was slurred and he was unable to pass a field sobriety test. A second officer confirmed Everett?s observations.Felt said he had been drinking at The Landing, where he had two vodka tonics. Police said he blew a .3 score, just less than four times the .08 legal limit.Police Sgt. Donald Decker interviewed the bartender who worked at The Landing that afternoon. The bartender recalled serving Felt two to three glasses of wine sometime between 1-3 p.m.Town Counsel Jeffrey Shribman will represent the town in the hearing, which is scheduled to begin at 7:35 p.m.In the past selectmen have suspended licenses if evidence indicates a customer was over-served and the occasion is a first offense.
