Marblehead quarterback Hayes Richardson and Swampscott counterpart Matt Barbuzzi will share the offensive MVP award for the Northeastern Conference.Beverly’s Nick Kozlowski and Danvers’ John McInnis split the Defensive Player of the Year award for the NEC South while Marblehead’s Jim Rudloff was the coach of the year.In the NEC North, Antonio Reyes of Salem was named Defensive MVP and Conor Ressel of Gloucester received Offensive MVP honors. Paul Ingram of Gloucester was the coach of the year.Richardson threw three touchdown passes on Thanksgiving Day – including the game-clincher to Alex Haigis with less than a minute to go, to lead the Magicians to a dramatic win. The victory clinched the NEC/South title for Marblehead, and enabled the Magicians to play Tuesday (5:45 p.m. at Manning Field) against Rockland for the right to play in the Division 3 Super Bowl next Saturday.Barbuzzi scored the touchdown that put Swampscott ahead, 27-26, in that game early in the fourth quarter.Other players from Swampscott that made the Northeastern Conference/South All-Star team were running back Kyle Shonio, wide receiver Randall Kelleher, offensive linemen Chris Fagone and Santino Foresta, and linebacker Jared Richard.Bob Serino of Swampscott was also named the assistant coach of the year.Players from Marblehead making the team were Haigis (as a defensive back), offensive lineman Liam Gilliland, defensive lineman Blake Forman, and linebackers Evan Comeau and Matt Evans.The rest of the NEC South team includes: Saugus: Andrew White, offensive line.
