LYNN – The bicyclist seriously injured in a collision with a motor vehicle at Adams and Chestnut streets on Thursday appeared to be drunk and did not remember the incident, according to Lynn Police Lt. William Sharpe.Officers who arrived on the scene around 4 p.m. said Miguel Rodriguez, 25, appeared to be drunk, although witnesses said he was unconscious after impact. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and was in stable condition at 6:30 p.m. Rodriguez was later interviewed but was unable to recall the accident.Jerry Martinez, 22, was operating the 1998 Toyota Forerunner Rodriguez slammed into. He was traveling toward Western Avenue on Chestnut Street as Rodriguez was coming down a hill on Adams Street.”Several witnesses confirmed that Martinez had a green light and Rodriguez came down the hill from Adams Street very fast, failing to stop for the red light before slamming into the side (of the car),” Sharpe said. “At this time there will be no charges.”A joint investigation was conducted at the scene by Lynn Traffic Investigator John Meaney and state police troopers John Bibeau and Joseph Foglietta of the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
