LYNN – A police officer on private detail arrested two men after they assaulted and robbed a 64-year-old woman on Friday.Police responded to a report of an unarmed robbery at 240 Broadway at 1:40 p.m. The victim was assaulted in the foyer of her apartment building, where one of the robbers also lives. Her purse was stolen and the two men fled the scene in a car.”Witnesses provided a partial plate and a direction of travel of the vehicle, and information was broadcast to officers on patrol,” Lynn Police Capt. Michael Mageary said. “Several units converged on the area in search of the suspects.”Officer Paul Cotter, working a private detail on Den Quarry Road, spotted the car and made a motor vehicle stop as other units arrived. The two occupants of the car matched the description of the suspects and were later identified by witnesses. The purse was found inside the car.Brian Mishel, 33, of 94 Edgemere Road and Stephen Clements, 32, of 240 Broadway, were arrested and charged with unarmed robbery on a person over 60. They will be arraigned in Lynn District Court.
