MARBLEHEAD-Superintendent of Schools Paul Dulac has set a timetable for the selection of the next principal of Marblehead High n and veteran educator Sue Gee, the current interim, will be an applicant. The job has already been posted at a salary described as “competitive.” In his last year as principal, the late John Ziergiebel received $109,558.Dulac?s announcement Thursday means that both in-house interims will be candidates for the permanent principalships this year. Two weeks earlier Dulac told the committee that interim Bell School Principal Thomas DesJardins will be a candidate for principal of that school, keeping a promise Dulac said he made to Bell School parents. The Bell principalship paid $92,000 last year. The job was posted Nov. 29 and the deadline for applications is Dec. 30. The deadline for applications for the Bell search committee was Monday. The two searches will be somewhat concurrent. Dulac has allowed two weeks for the selection of a 12-member search committee for the high school position. The committee will include staff, administration and parents. The position has been posted and the deadline for applications and resumes is Feb. 5. The superintendent expects the search committee to interview four-five finalists by Feb. 12 and make his choice by Feb. 15, the day before February vacation, and the new principal will formally begin duties July 1.?We?re moving this up as fast as we can,” he said. “The principal will be named early so he or she can be involved in the budget and a lot of other things.”
