The Peabody High girls basketball team had its best offensive showing of the season in a 70-47 win over Revere Tuesday at Peabody.The Tanners (6-1, 4-1 Northeastern Conference) had three girls hit double figures. Kerrie O’Shea and Brittany LeFave shared the spotlight with 16 points each with Janelle Rodriguez close behind with 14.Peabody hit the ground running with a 19-point first quarter and never let down. The defense was also sharp. Revere big gun Morgan Jenkins had 11 points and Julie Restaino added 10.Bishop Fenwick 60, Arl. Catholic 51At Bishop Fenwick, senior co-captain and guard Lizzy Trainor had a night to remember, scoring nearly half (28) of her team’s points. Amy Pelletier and Sydney Souther also helped out with 13 points each.”Liz had an outstanding game,” Fenwick coach Tim Harrington said, noting that she was 12-for-12 at the line including six in a row late in the fourth quarter to keep Arlington Catholic at bay.Fenwick is 3-2 overall, 1-2 in the Catholic Central League.Swampscott 45, Marblehead 27At Marblehead, the Big Blue (6-2) continue to get the job done. Kara Gilberg topped the ticket again with 18 points while two freshmen, Caroline Murphy and Ara Talkov, chipped in with 10 and nine points, respectively. Marblehead is 2-5 overall, 1-4 in the NEC.Gr. Lawrence 57, Tech 43At Greater Lawrence, the Tigers (0-7) played well for three quarters, but couldn’t overcome a slow start that saw them outscored 18-3 in the first quarter. Fanice Jean-Baptiste led the way with 21 points, 17 of them in the second half. Octavia Harper had 10 points and Jenna Kulakowski had eight.No. Andover 40, Lynnfield 28At North Andover, coach Bill Adams was very pleased with his team’s defensive effort against a strong No. Andover team, saying it was probably the best of the season. He was also encouraged by the offense, which was led by Abby Tobin (10 points) and Sarah Goldstein (6 points). Lynnfield is 1-6.Danvers 55, Gloucester 50At Gloucester, the Falcons (6-1, 4-1 Northeastern Conference) came out flying in the first half to take a 35-16 lead into the locker room. The effort paid off when Gloucester, which started the third quarter with a 10-0 run, caught fire in the second half, but couldn’t quite climb out of the hole.Kellie Macdonald went to town for Danvers, scoring 24 points with 13 rebounds. Alison Tivnan had 12 points and Sarah Palazola, 11. Audrey Knowlton led Gloucester with 15 points and Olivia Lufkin chipped in with 14. Hannah Cain contributed 13 points in a losing cause.Beverly 51, Salem 43At Salem, Jen Ashton had a big game for the Panthers (1-5), scoring 12 points while picking up five steals and eight assists. She was key in keeping Salem’s Alyssa Wilkins (17 points) from inflicting too much damage in the second half (she scored five points). Jasmine Bryant (11 points) also played well for the Witches.
