LYNN – The Community Minority Cultural Center is finalizing its plans for the 24th annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast on Jan. 18.The breakfast will be held at North Shore Community College’s Lynn campus.”This celebration not only marks the great contributions Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made, but it also is an opportunity to educate recent immigrants and native Lynners about Dr. King’s influence in today’s world and the great legacy he left for all of us,” said Steven Godfrey, executive director of the cultural center on 298 Union St.Godfrey, who assumed the post of executive director in 2009, has sent out a plea for event sponsorship.”I am enthusiastic to participate in this role and look forward to building and creating more opportunities for the residents of Lynn,” he said. “In addition to celebrating 24 years of Dr. King’s birthday, we will celebrate Lynn’s great diversity and history.”To reserve space in the event advertising book, please provide camera-ready copy by Jan. 7 and contact Lissette Contreras at 781-477-1803 or email [email protected].
