SALEM – Numerous area police departments have collaborated to track down a graffiti artist responsible for thousands of dollars in damage throughout Boston and North Shore communities.Seamous O’Leary, 18, of 57 Gregory St., Marblehead, will be summonsed and charged with numerous felony counts of vandalizing property and tagging in Salem.A two-month multi-jurisdictional investigation into graffiti led to a search warrant for O’Leary’s home carried out by the Salem Police Department’s Community Impact Unit. Among the items found at the residence were spray paint cans, nozzles, paint pens, backpacks filled with paint cans and nozzles used for tagging, sketches and stickers bearing the suspect’s tags of “BUST” and “BREE” as well as tags for the graffiti crew know as “TBS” and “THE BOMB SQUAD.”The properties allegedly damaged by O’Leary include the Vendome at 160 Commonwealth Ave. in Boston, several Back Bay residences, various businesses in Vinnin Square in Swampscott, MBTA switch boxes in Salem and several businesses throughout Peabody and Salem, police said. It is also expected that additional properties vandalized by O’Leary will be identified through the investigation.O’Leary is expected to be charged subsequently by each law enforcement agency involved in the investigation, including the Transit Police, Boston Police, Marblehead Police, Swampscott Police, Salem State College Police, Peabody Police and Lynn Police.
