Marblehead art festival logo premiere party Tuesday

MARBLEHEAD-The Marblehead Festival of Arts will hold its public Logo Premiere Party Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at The Landing Restaurant, 81 Front St.The Logo Premiere Party will feature the announcement of the 2010 logo contest winner, as well as hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.Each year the Festival is represented by a new logo, the result of a design competition. This year’s logo contest featured 98 entries from Essex County professional graphic artists, art hobbyists and art students.A panel of three judges selected 20 semifinalists and then four finalists, and the winner was selected by public ballot at voting locations in Marblehead, Beverly, Lynn, Salem and Swampscott.Tuesday the award-winning logo will be announced and shown for the first time, and an award will be presented to the winning artist. Finalist and semifinalist logo entries will be on display.The Logo Premiere Party has become a fun way to chase away the winter blues, meet and greet Festival friends and hear about Festival plans in the making.The Marblehead Festival of Arts is an all-volunteer organization, and festival board members will be on hand to answer any questions attendees may have regarding volunteer opportunities.Preparations are under way for fund-raising events, exhibits and performing arts that all require help.The public is invited to come join in the fun.
