LYNN ? From Victory Road in Lynn to the Big Apple, a former Lynn resident keeps the laughter rolling.Sean Lynch, 37, is scheduled to return to Lynn for one show only at LynnArts, Saturday at 8 p.m.The stand-up comedy show “Class Clowns” features Lynch, Jordan Carlos, Mark Normand, Scott Wallace and Sean Donnelly. The former St. Pius student said he has spent the last 18 years in New York and Los Angeles where he writes for MTV and Comedy Central. But Lynch is best known for stand- up comedy and he said much of his act originates from his experiences growing up in Lynn.”I went to St. Pius V school Where I first started doing impressions of the nuns and armpit farting in the schoolyard for Twinkies,” he said. “I later attended Bishop Fenwick High School where I developed a passion for theater, music, marijuana and cheerleaders with low self-esteem.”Lynch said he got serious about comedy when he was a student in New York City.”I started doing comedy in college,” he said. “I didn’t start playing Boston clubs until I was in my 30s. Believe it or not it’s easier to get booked into clubs in New York City and L.A. than in Boston because Boston is considered the greatest comedy town in the world.”Lynch said he rarely gets the chance to return to Lynn so he’s thrilled to have the opportunity to perform for a hometown crowd.”So much of my material is about growing up in Lynn,” he said. “People my act is inspired by have never seen it. I’m really excited to be able to perform for my friends and family. We are on tour and I thought it would be cool to do a show in my hometown.”Lynch performs regularly with “Class Clowns” and is currently performing with Colin Quinn at the Iguana Club on Broadway. In the past he has shared the stage with Denis Leary, Robin Williams, Ray Romano, Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle.”I’m really into meeting new people and hearing their stories,” he said. “I’m a filmmaker and television writer/producer. I enjoy playing music and doing stand-up. Mostly I enjoy good company and a good laugh.”If You Go?Tickets for the show at 8 p.m. Saturday are$15 at the door and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to aperforming artsscholarship for students in Lynn.
