LYNN – A Lynn woman was arrested Thursday in connection with a fight outside of People’s Choice restaurant on Jan. 22 after a month-long police investigation into the incident, which left one victim in the hospital with serious injuries.Johanny Martinez, 27, of 102 Grove St., was charged with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, including brass knuckles, the sidewalk and a plastic crate, one count of assault and battery, and affray. Ironelis Rumardo, 26, of 26 Curwin Circle, and a juvenile are also wanted on warrants for their part in the fight. Two of the victims met with police the next afternoon and told them the fight began around 1:30 a.m. with an argument between the two groups of women because one of the suspects was the ex-girlfriend of a man the victims were at the restaurant with. According to the police report, one of the victims stepped outside to make a phone call and said she was attacked by the suspects. A third victim, who ended up in the hospital with facial injuries and a fractured vertebra, met with police after being released on Jan. 25 and was able to pick the suspects out of a photo array by name.Twelve hours after the late-night incident on Jan. 22, one victim said she encountered Martinez and Rumardo while driving down Chestnut Street when the pair blocked her from driving forward, pulled her from her car and beat her until she was able to break free and flee the scene.Police were unable to find any of the suspects during their investigation and issued the warrants for their arrests only after they did not come forward to make any statements on the incident. Martinez was arraigned on Friday and is being held on $10,000 bail.
