Track: Marblehead, Beverly, Prep lead the parade

Mary Keroack had some sort of day for Marblehead’s girls track team on Sunday. Not only did the senior run the third leg of the second-place finishing 4×400 relay team (4:03.55) with Maura Tubridy, Emma McGuirk and Sarah Bitterman, she also placed first in the 300 (41.07), to lead the Magicians to a seventh place finish.”(Keroack) had a phenomenal day,” Marblehead coach Mike Toomey said. “She ran the fastest time in the relay as well. It was just an all-around great day.”Marblehead had four other competitors place in the top 10: Sarah Bitterman, seventh, 600 (1:41.38); Madeline Piela, seventh, mile (5:21.31); Chloe Heskett, Piela, Mary Kauffman and Gretchen Rowe, 4×800 (10:16.15); and Rowe, eighth, 1,000 (3:12.45).Lindsey Walsh had another impressive showing at the meet. She placed second in the mile (5:05) to lead Swampscott to a 17th place finish.The Big Blue had four other individual performers: Emma Walsh, mile (1:44.09); Hannah King, mile (1:45.37); and Michaela Jency, mile (6:00.13). Emma and Lindsey Walsh, King, and Miranda Wilson also competed in the 4×800 (10:50.79).Saugus had three competitors: Ashley Alfred, 600 (1:47.25); Stephanie Perella, shot put (29-4); and Laura Atkins, long jump (15-6 3/4).Danvers had four top-10 performances: Christina Kaczynski, sixth, 600 (1:40.85); Megan Taylor, seventh, high jump (4-10); Rachel Kaczynski, ninth, 1,00 (3:13.63); and Maria Pantazelos, Megan Taylor, R. Kaczynski and C. Kaczynski, ninth , 4×400 (4:16.18).Beverly had a sensational day in the Division 2 meet on Saturday. The Panthers, who placed fourth, had three first place finishes: Monica Adler, mile (4:58.61); Millie Chapman, 2 mile (11:16.64); and Wendi Marciano, Chapman, Brenna Bailey and Adler, 4×800 (9:46.65).”The girls really rose to the occasion,” Panthers coach Dave Jellerson said. “They had the added pressure of being the top-ranked position in each of their events. It was outstanding.”Gloucester had three top-10 finishes: Abbie Rogers, third, mile (5:20.89); Clare Plueler, Elle Wierbicky, Rogers and Biance Giacalone, ninth, 4×400 (4:16.64); and Brittany Diamond, 10th, 1,000 (3:10.97).Ali Monaco, of Salem also finished in the top-10. She placed 10th in the 600 (1:43.08).Catarina Rocha, a freshman from Peabody, placed fourth in the mile to highlight the Tanners day in the Division 1 meet. Peabody’s 4×400 relay team, which is comprised of Laura Pelletrino, Rocha, Kirsten Kruczkowski and Andrea Saccardo placed ninth with a time of 4:19.98.Bianca Folwer of English had a nice performance in the 300 (42.71).BOYS TRACKSt. John’s Preps team placed second in the Divison 1 boys meet. The Eagles had a pair of first place finishes: Jared Kadich, 300 (35.27) and Chris Oesterlin, 1,000 (2:32.42). The 4×400 team, comprised of Chris Crosby, Mike Galasso, Brandon West and Oesterlin, placed second with a time of 3:27.65. St. John’s had a pair of third place finishes: Galasso, 600 (1:23.83); and Sean Enos, shot put (49-11 3/4). Jack Durkin placed fourth in the high jump (6-2), and Crosby placed fifth in the 300 (35.84) to round out the events in which they scored.English’s Richard Kimber placed fourth in the 55 hurdles with a time of 7.97.Jamal Abu-Hijleh, Jon Acquavia, Nate Gaye and Bobby Lossano, Peabody’s 4×200, relay team placed second with a time of 1:33.08. The Tanners had two other competitors place in the top-10: Acuavia, eight, 300 (37.02); and Shawn Cronin, Evan Braz, Corey Cronin and Jake Pimenta, 10th, 4×800 (8:28.88).In the Division 3 meet, Danvers’ Ben Pasquariello placed third in the high jump (6-2). Shiloh Clark of Swampscott performed well in the 1,000, with a time of (2:51.36).In the Division 2 meet, Gus Margiotta, of Gloucester finished second in the shot put (55-1 3/4). The Fishermen’s 4×800 (8:18.19) also placed second. Gloucester had three other top-10 performances: Kevin Hurd, fourth, 1,000 (2:35); Andrew Ryan, eighth, mile (4:31.88); and Kyle Hurd, ninth, 1,000 (2:39.34).Classical’s 4×200 relay team, Chevere A
