Top 15 in Marblehead gross more than $100G

MARBLEHEAD – In 2009 Marblehead’s top 15 wage-earners grossed more than $100,000.The 14 men and one woman who head the top 75 in town included three school administrators, the town administrator, two electric light department managers, the police chief and six members of the Police Department, the director of public works and the town’s chief financial officer.https://newitemlive.wpengine.com/special/salaries/?id=4In a Police Department trend, police lieutenants Jonathan Lunt and Matthew Freeman, Sgt. Jason Conrad and patrolman Sean Brady earned more than Police Chief Robert Picariello. Patrolman Brendan Finnegan and acting Police Capt. Mark Mills earned slightly less.Picariello is a department head who does not receive overtime or police detail assignments. All the other police officers received substantial additional sums for working overtime and police details.Some Fire Department and Municipal Light Department personnel also earned overtime.This year’s top earners all earned more than $75,000.The list included 26 members of the School Department, including six teachers; 23 police officers, including 13 patrolmen; 12 Municipal Light Department employees; seven members of the Fire Department; and seven town management personnel.Eighteen of the 75 were women, including 14 teachers and administrators.Last year’s list of the 60 highest-paid town employees included 24 from the schools, 15 from the Police Department, 10 from the Municipal Light Department, six town executives and five Fire Department officers, with 13 women.
