Globetrotters dribble into Boston weekend

BOSTON – The famed Harlem Globetrotters take on the New York Nationals in their 2010 “Magical Memories” World Tour, which stops at the TD Garden this weekend.Now in their 84th consecutive season of touring, the show features extraordinary athletes and entertainers including Big Easy Lofton and Flight Time Lang, who recently starred in the Emmy Award-winning CBS reality hit, “The Amazing Race.” Thehilarious Special K Daley, dribbling magician Scooter Christensen and ball handling wizard Handles Franklin will captivate fans with their basketball wizardry and hilarious antics.The Globetrotters, who are known as the “Ambassadors of Goodwill,” are also the ambassadors of family fun. You don’t have to be a basketball aficionado to enjoy this show. It is an event the entire family is sure to enjoy and has become an annual tradition for many North Shore families.In addition to outstanding basketball and jaw dropping ball handling routines, the comedy routines the Globetrotters incorporate into every show are a big hit. Every year the Globetrotters ‘Mascot “Globie” is a highlight of every show with his antics.At the end of the game be sure to head court-side for the meet and greet session, where fans can get autographs from the Globetrotters and Globie.Since their inception in 1927, the Globetrotters have traveled to more than 120 countries on six continents, performed for 128 million fans and won championships making them unstoppable for more than eight decades. In 2002, the Globetrotters were the fifth team to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
